MANILA — The northeast monsoon affecting northern Luzon will bring light rains over this area likely until Friday, the weather bureau said.

Cloudy skies with light rains are expected over the Cagayan Valley region, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains will prevail over the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Samuel was last eyed at 395 km. west-northwest of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 km. per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 65 kph, heading west-northwest at 30 kph.

PAGASA earlier said “Samuel” might exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility either Thursday evening or Friday morning.

Light to moderate winds will blow over Mindanao, where coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to strong with moderate to rough seas, PAGASA said.
