‘Notorious pusher’ nabbed in Koronadal

GENERAL SANTOS CITY—Police said they arrested on Monday a notorious drug pusher during a buy-bust operation in Koronadal City.

Supt. Ronald Allan Peñaverde, the Koronadal City police chief, identified the suspect as Ian Mark Nuñez Adrias, 27, who is reportedly a known supplier of metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to tricycle drivers in the area.

He said the suspect was nabbed at the vicinity of Balmores Street, in Barangay General Paulino Santos after selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to a police officer, who posed as a buyer.

Recovered from Adrias were 14 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P18,500 and the P500 marked bill used in the buy-bust, he said.

Peñaverde said the suspect, who is included in the city police’s drug watchlist, is possibly involved in large-scale drug trade based on the volume of shabu seized from his possession.

He said they are currently looking into Adrias’ possible links with other drug personalities in the area.

Based on police record, Peñaverde said the suspect was also arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 last year for selling and possession of shabu but was able to post bail.

He said they received information that Adrias resumed his illegal activities after being released from jail.

Peñaverde added that the suspect, who is now detained at the Koronadal City Police station lockup, will be charged with violation of sections 5 and 11 or selling and possession of dangerous drugs, under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (AMS/PNA)
