NTF assures no vaccine wastage in PH

National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 Spokesperson Restituto Padilla assured the public on Wednesday (May 26) that none of the vaccines delivered to the country will be wasted.

Speaking at the Laging Handa briefing, Padilla said all vaccines will be administered prior to their expiration primarily because of the increase in the vaccine confidence rate in the Philippines.

He said this following news that Hong Kong might soon bin millions of unused COVID-19 vaccines because only a few of its citizens have signed up for the jabs due to vaccine hesitancy.

Padilla also reminded local government units to impose stricter quarantine measures when the need arises.

The NTF also said that vaccine distribution and deployment among the regions remains proportioned and in accordance with the risk levels in certain areas.

Meanwhile, the NTF has distributed additional testing kits to some provinces with increased cases of COVID-19.

The NTF, in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways, has also provided additional isolation facilities in some provinces. – Report from Louisa Erispe / CF-jlo
