NTF to lift travel moratorium on LSIs

The National Task Force Against COVID-19 may now lift the moratorium on travel imposed on locally stranded individuals (LSIs) bound for Regions 6, 8, and CARAGA.

NTF Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez said they have already coordinated with local governments and the LSIs can return home.

He added that the next set of repatriation for LSIs under Hatid Tulong program will be on July 25 to 26.

“So kinakausap po namin iyong mga mayors at saka iyong mga governors na given the time na more than 15 days na allowable na iyon, pwede na siguro iyong ibang nagkaroon ng moratorium dahil wala na po, natapos na po ang quarantine ng kanilang mga LSI ay pwede na pong magpatuloy na po (We talked to the mayors and governors that given the 15-day allowable period, some of those who had a moratorium may now lift it since the quarantine of their LSIs have already been completed),” Galvez said.

A temporary suspension on repatriation of LSIs was earlier imposed due to lack of facilities in the said regions.

“So magpupulong pa po kami ng member ng mga ULAP at saka ni SILG para maipaliwanag ang gagawin po natin na mga new protocols po sa LSI (So we will have a meeting with members of ULAP and SILG to explain the new protocols to be undertaken for the LSIs),” Galvez added. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
