Nueva Ecija subdivision placed on 2-week granular lockdown

SANTA ROSA, Nueva Ecija – A subdivision in Barangay Lourdes was placed under granular lockdown after more than 40 residents were found positive or suspected to have been infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Mayor Josefino Angeles on Monday (Sept. 20) signed Executive Order 27-2021 imposing the granular lockdown on Sta. Rosa Homes from Sept. 20 to Oct. 4.

Section 2 of the EO states that no one shall enter or leave Santa Rosa Homes within the said period.

“Kung may medical emergency ang isang naninirahan at kailangang pumunta sa duktor o ospital, papayagan silang lumabas at makapasok muli (If there is a medical emergency and one who is residing there needs to go to the doctor or hospital, they will be allowed to go out and enter again),” Section 2 of the order read.

“Kung magpapabili ng gamot at iba pang essential items, ang mga kawani ng pamahalaang barangay sa Lourdes ay tutulong sa pagbili ng essential items (Barangay Lourdes personnel will help those who will request to purchase medicines and other essential items),” the order added.

Employees who will have to report to work shall be allowed but have to find temporary shelter for they will not be allowed to return until the lockdown ends.

The EO also provides for the mandatory wearing of face masks, a liquor ban, the prohibition of social gatherings as well as delivery of any items from the outside.

“Ang mga magde-deliver ng pagkain o iba pang produkto ay hanggang sa checkpoint lamang at doon kukunin ng bumili (Those who will deliver foods and other products will have to stop at the checkpoint and will those who purchased will have to get it there),” the measure further stated.

School modules shall be delivered by persons manning the checkpoint to the students’ residence and construction activities within the subdivision shall also be stopped temporarily.

The EO likewise stipulates that funeral wakes shall be allowed only for deaths not related to Covid-19. Only immediate members of the family are allowed to attend.

Utility companies such as the Nueva Ecija Electric Cooperative and Santa Rosa Water District shall not disconnect services to residents of Sta. Rosa Homes that cannot pay bills in time because of the granular lockdown. (PNA) -bny
