OCTA: Cases continue to lower, may reach hundreds by end of March

By Pearl Gumapos

The OCTA Research Group on Monday (March 7) reported the continued decrease of cases and said that the cases recorded might lessen to hundreds come the end of March.

“Iyong prediction natin na less than 1,000 ‘yung cases by March ay ito nga na nakikita natin na less than 1,000. Inaasahan natin na patuloy pa itong bababa. By end of March, posibleng mga a few hundreds na lang iyan,” OCTA member Dr. Guido David said during the Laging Handa Public briefing.

Meanwhile, David also said that while Puerto Princesa has a positive growth rate, the cases in the area haven’t been increasing.

“Hindi pa naman tumataas iyong kaso sa Puerto Princesa although may positive growth rate kasi iyong reproduction number nila ay mababa na. Pero that being said, wala tayong nakikitang high-risk sa Puerto Princesa,” David said.

“The other highly-urbanized cities sa Luzon, especially Angeles, Dagupan, and Olongapo ay nasa very low risk. Iyong NCR naman ay nasa low risk,” David added. -rir
