Old Ospital ng Maynila building to become PLM College of Medicine

By Gabriela Baron

The old building of the Ospital ng Maynila will soon become the Pamantasan ng Maynila Allied Health Sciences Campus.

Outgoing Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso led the turnover ceremony on Monday, June 20.

PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said the building will be retrofitted to accommodate College of Medicine students.

The old hospital building will allot classrooms and laboratories for PLM’s College of Nursing, College of Physical Therapy, and possibly College of Science.

Meanwhile, Ospital ng Maynila will move to a 10-story, fully air conditioned facility fully funded by the city government.

Domagoso committed the Ospital ng Maynila facility to PLM in August 2021, while the construction of the new Ospital ng Maynila started in 2020.

The new Ospital ng Maynila will be inaugurated Friday, June 24, coinciding with the 451st celebration of “Araw ng Maynila.” – ag
