Ongoing search and rescue ops for missing Cessna 206 halted due to bad weather

The ongoing search and rescue (SAR) operations for the missing Cessna 206 were halted on Wednesday, Jan. 25, due to bad weather in the area, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

The CAAP said the SAR operations, led by the Philippine Air Force – Tactical Operations Group 2, will resume once the weather in the area improves.

The six-seater Cessna 206 plane with a tail number RPC 1174 was declared missing Tuesday afternoon.

It took off at 2:15 p.m. at Cauayan Domestic Airport in Isabela and was expected to land at around 3:00 p.m. at the coastal town of Mocanacon.

The plane’s last contact with the air traffic controller was at 2:19 p.m. when it was within the vicinity of Naguilian Bridge in Isabela, according to CAAP. -ag
