Only a limited number of local government units (LGUs) will receive the Russian vaccine Sputnik V because of its required storage temperature.
The vaccine must be stored in a dark storage facility with a temperature not lower than 18 degrees Celsius.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), the first batch of Sputnik V may be used in the NCR Plus Bubble where Covid-19 cases are high. The vaccine is expected to arrive on April 29, and another 500,000 doses in early May.
The government ordered 20 million doses of Sputnik V that are all expected to be delivered within 2021.
