OTS: Repatriates from ‘red countries’ may go home to PH

The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) on Thursday (Sept. 9) said Filipinos from countries labeled as ‘high risk’ may still go home to the Philippines.

“Ang protocol kapag ang mga pasahero ay nanggagaling sa red country, definitely we will not allow arrival from them except kung mga repatriations ‘yan ng ating mga stranded na kababayan,” OTS Undersecretary Raul del Rosario said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

“Sila ay mag-quarantine ng 10 days, mandatory facility quarantine, at mandatory four days home quarantine. Ang testing nila ay sa seventh day. Ang release nila sa 10th day. Ito ay sa mga repatriations from red countries,” he added.

Meanwhile, travelers from ‘yellow countries’ do not have travel restrictions and may enter the Philippines as long as they are authorized to do so.

Their quarantine period is the same with red countries: 10 days mandatory facility, four days home quarantine, and swab test on the seventh day.

“Ang kagandahan sa pagka-lift ng restriction ay magiging 10 days nalang ang quarantine ng mga pasaherong galing sa ibang bansa instead na 14. Pero ganoon pa rin naman. Mahigpit pa rin ang pagpapatupad natin ng mga protocols na seventh day swab at 10 days quarantine,” del Rosario said.

When coming from a ‘green country’ and the traveler is fully vaccinated, the quarantine period is seven days and the swab test will be on the fifth day.

“Mayroon na tayong mga green list countries. ‘Yung mga yellow countries at red countries ay hinihintay nating ma-finalize at ma-issue,” del Rosario said. -PG-rir
