Over 1,000 aftershocks were recorded in Abra after the major 7.0-magnitude quake rocked Northern Luzon on Wednesday, July 27, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported Friday, July 29.
As of 2:00 p.m. Friday, Phivolcs recorded a total of 1,108 earthquakes and plotted 285 tremors ranging from magnitudes 1.5 to 5.0.
However, only 26 of the earthquakes were felt.
Six individuals have been reported dead while four others are missing following the Abra quake.
Of the reported deaths, five were in the Cordillera Administrative Region and the other fatality has yet to be validated. –ag
