Over 100k PUV operators receive cash subsidy

110,359 public utility vehicle (PUV) operators have received cash subsidy from the government.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) stated in a Facebook post that a total of ₱17,333,500 cash subsidy has been distributed to PUV operators who received ₱6,500 each.

The program includes 120,000 jeepney operators, 21,998 bus operators, 24,374 UV Express operators, 10,188 Filcabs, 1,259 mini buses, and 426 point-to-point bus operators.

The LTFRB has launched the subsidy program Thursday that aims to aid PUV operators in various parts of the country. The program has a total fund of ₱1.6 billion under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act. -PTV News
