Over 43,000 PDLs released by court

43,171 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) have been released by the court after attending their hearing through a video conference. Based on the data of the Office of the Court Administrator, they have also released inmates with minor charges and those who have completed their sentence. The release of PDLs aims to prevent the further spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in congested prisons.
