Over 900 families evacuated in Iligan

At least 987 families or 3,481 individuals were evacuated in Iligan City as of Friday afternoon due to heavy rainfall brought about by Typhoon Odette.

The city’s social welfare office said evacuees are staying in 27 evacuation centers. Food packs have been pre-positioned and camp managers are on standby.

The office has also coordinated with barangays before the Odette made landfall. Authorities said health protocols remain in place in evacuation centers to prevent COVID-19 transmission. -rir
