P1 fare jeepney fare hike approved in 3 regions

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved the provisional fare increase of P1 for public utility jeepneys (PUJs) in the National Capital Region, Central Luzon, and Region 4.

The LTFRB said in its decision that PUJs in the three regions are allowed to raise fare “in the amount of One Pesos (P1.00) for the first four kilometers” without an increase in succeeding kilometers.

“In sum, the fare is now provisionally adjusted to TEN Pesos (P10.00) for the first four (4) kilometers.”

Covered PUJ operators are required to display a notice of provisional case increase inside their units. AG– gb
