P5.1-M worth of drugs seized in Cebu

CEBU CITY — More than PHP5 million worth of “shabu” were taken off Cebu City’s streets last week when policemen confiscated some 434.61 grams on May 21-27.

In the weekly accomplishment report of the Cebu City Police released Tuesday, the Dangerous Drugs Board valued the haul at PHP5.12 million.

The bulk of the drug haul was recovered by Police Station 10 in Punta Princesa, which seized a total of 300.08 grams of “shabu”, also known as methamphetamine hydrochloride, worth PHP3.54 million in Barangay Tisa during a joint operation with the city police’s Drug Enforcement Unit last week.

The Punta Princesa Police also seized .56 grams of “shabu” valued at PHP6,608 in Barangay Labangon, while Police Station 4 in Mabolo confiscated 54.74 grams worth PHP645,932 – broken down into 52.38 grams (PHP618,084) in Barangay Luz and 2.36 grams (PHP27,848) in Barangay Lahug.

The City Intelligence Branch (CIB) also seized 28.26 grams of “shabu” worth PHP333,468 in Barangay Ermita last week., while Police Station 6 recovered PHP290,280 worth of drugs or 24.92 grams.
