PACC, DPWH sign manifesto vs. corruption

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) signed on Monday (April 12) a manifesto to fight corruption.

The signing of the manifesto is part of the “Project Kasanga-Tokhang Laban sa Korapsyon” that aims to strengthen the government’s action plan to catch individuals involved in corruption.

The two agencies discussed matters related to their cooperation for the “speedy detection, prosecution, and resolution of graft and corruption cases” within the department on April 7, as shared by the PACC’s Facebook page.

PACC Chairperson Greco Belgica said that though they have no jurisdiction over congressmen, they will not tolerate the alleged involvement of several lawmakers in the corruption inside DPWH.

Meanwhile, DPWH Sec. Mark Villar gave the assurance that they will continue to root out corrupt individuals from the department.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) initially signed the manifesto against corruption on March 30.
