ISLAMABAD – The Pakistani security forces arrested a commander of a banned organization in southwestern Balochistan province, officials and local media said on Tuesday, Feb. 1.
The security forces and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of police conducted a joint operation on a tip-off about the presence of the senior terrorist commander in the Bolan area of Balochistan, the CTD officials told local media.
During the raid, the terrorist commander belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army was arrested, said the officials, adding that the detained terrorist was involved in several terrorist activities in the province.
A huge cache of arms and explosives was also recovered from the possession of the terrorist, they added.
Law enforcers shifted the suspect to an unknown location for interrogation, said local reports. (Xinhua) – bny
