Philippine Airlines flight PR8809 (RP-C9905) departed from Manila at 5:09AM today (March2) and arrived in Davao at 6:48AM, carrying 12,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines.

The 700-kilo shipment was loaded on the cargo compartment of our 199-seater PAL Airbus A321.

Upon arrival at the Davao International Airport, the vaccines (placed in 20 boxes) were transferred to cold-storage vans. The shipment was transported to the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City and other hospitals.

Earlier, Philippine Airlines flight PR1845 (RP-C9928) left Manila at 6:22AM and touched down in Cebu at 7:38AM carrying 7,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines weighing 450-kilos. PAL also utilized an A321 for the journey.

After unloading the vaccines from the aircraft’s cargo compartment, the vaccines (placed in 12 boxes) were loaded into cold-storage vans. From Mactan Cebu International Airport, the vaccines will be transported to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and other hospitals.

In preparation for the Davao and Cebu flights, cold-storage vans transported the vaccines to PAL’s International Cargo Terminal (PAL ICT) in Pasay City last night (March1) from the storage facility in Marikina. The shipment for Cebu and Davao forms part of the 600,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines flown into the country from China.
