Palace: Antigen testing implemented in evacuation centers

Malacañang emphasized on Tuesday that COVID-19 testing is being conducted in evacuation centers to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in typhoon-stricken areas.

“Bago pa imungkahi iyan ng OCTA Research Group ay ina-assure ko po kayo na in place na po iyong polisiya ng gobyerno na magbigay po ng COVID testing sa mga evacuation centers (Even before the OCTA Research Group proposed it, I already assured you that government policy on COVID-19 testing in evacuation centers is in place),” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated.

Evacuation centers are using the antigen test to ensure fast mass testing.

Amid the reported success in the development of COVID-19 vaccines in other nations, the Palace ensured that the country has funds and “firm commitments from the United States.”

“Nangako na rin po si President Xi sa ating Presidente mismo na magkakaroon po tayo ng supply ng vaccine na madi-develop ng Tsina. Pagdating naman po sa Inglatera, ang AstraZeneca, sila raw po ay sisiguraduhin, sang-ayon po roon sa COVAX agreement (President Xi assured our president that we will have vaccine supplies developed in China. As for England, AstraZeneca will assure that in accordance with COVAX agreement),” Roque cited. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
