Palace hits proposed US ban on officials in De Lima detention

The Palace lambasts the accusation of the US Senate on the alleged erroneous imprisonment of former Justice Secretary and Filipino Senator Leila De Lima. The American lawmakers approved of the amendment to the US Senate Committee on Appropriations Bill to bar Philippine officials from entering the United States, due to their involvement in jailing de Lima. According to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, the US senators have the right to criticize but not to conclude that the acts of Philippine authorities were irregular and to intrude into the affairs of the country.
