Palace reiterates importance of health standards for Chinese New Year celebration

The Palace reiterated the need to follow the minimum health standards as the Chinese New Year approaches.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque reminded that celebration has been allowed, however, it is different from the previous festivities before the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has also allowed a mall by the Manila Bay to launch fireworks display.

Despite the leeway given, Sec. Roque emphasized that health protocols should still be strictly observed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Social distancing, wearing of face mask and face shield, and regularly washing of hands are a must. – PTV News
