Palace slams Rappler CEO’s article on Duterte administration

The Palace refutes an article written by Rappler CEO Maria Ressa against the Duterte administration, pointing out how its author is out of touch with political realities on the ground. Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar points out a number of inconsistencies and misinterpretations of data in the said piece particularly the figures cited that 27,000 drug addicts have been killed in the government’s drug war. This is actually the total number of homicide cases which mostly have nothing to do with illegal drugs. In fact, Pres. Duterte has been enjoying excellent satisfaction rating based on independent surveys where 80% of Filipinos are happy with his performance while 85% trust his leadership. The Duterte administration assures that justice is served regardless of political leanings.
