Palace warns pork hoarders

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque has warned traders hoarding pork meat that their days are numbered as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is set to inspect cold storage facilities in various areas of the Philippines.

According to Secretary Roque, National Task Force against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. has a list of storage facilities therefore making it easier to identify unscrupulous entrepreneurs.

He still hopes though that no one is manipulating the prices of food products as the country fights the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

President Rodrigo R. Duterte approved the creation of a task force to investigate the price increase in Metro Manila markets on Feb. 3. – PTV News
