Pangasinan town to hold seminar vs disinformation

MANGALDAN, Pangasinan — This town will conduct its second journalism seminar-workshop to enable participants particularly campus journalists to think critically and identify truth.

“This is in line with the celebration of the International Youth Day on August 12, and to help young ones, especially campus journalists, to think critically and identify the truth – despite the rampant spread of disinformation nowadays,” Councilor Aldrin Soriano said in an interview Friday.

Initiated by Soriano, the seminar-workshop will be held on August 11 at Gueguesangen Integrated School here.

He said it is open to all students in Mangaldan public and private schools, in preparation for the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference later this year.

“I am glad that in our second seminar-workshop, about 500 students have agreed to join and learn,” he added.

Soriano said speakers for the workshop are topnotch people from the media, and champions in their craft. (Ahikam Pasion/PNA)
