PNP change of command ceremony to be led by PRRD on Oct 29

The change of command ceremony of the Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde, to be led by President Rodrigo Duterte, will be held on October 29, 10 days before his scheduled retirement on November 8. According to Malacañang, this is due to the fact that the President will be leaving for the ASEAN Summit in Thailand on the first week of November. Albayalde clarified that this early turnover has nothing to with the controversy surrounding the ninja cops presented at the Senate. Additionally, Sen. Bong Go stated that the President wishes to know the whole truth first behind the ninja cops controversy by waiting for the DOJ and DILG investigation results, in order for justice to be served properly through due process of law.
