Parts of Nueva Ecija to experience 11-hour brownout Friday

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — Some parts of this province will experience an 11-hour power interruption on Friday, according to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP).

The areas that would be affected by the scheduled power outage from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. are those being serviced by the Nueva Ecija Electric Cooperative (NEECO) II-Area I, San Jose City Electric Cooperative (SAJELCO) and Pantabangan Municipal Electric System (PAMES), NGCP regional communications and public affairs officer Ernest Vidal said.

The coverage areas of the three electric cooperatives are the towns of Talavera, Aliaga, Sto. Domingo, Quezon, Licab, Munoz, Guimba, Talugtug, Lupao, Carranglan, Pantabangan and San Jose City.

Vidal said the scheduled power interruption is due to the maintenance and corrective works inside Cabanatuan Substation, and along the Cabanatuan-Pantabangan 69kV line.

He, however, assured that NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier, or as scheduled. (PNA)
