Pasig City records 100% vaccination of A2 category

The Pasig City local government announced the 100% vaccination of all its eligible senior citizens on Thursday (July 23).

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said that all 44,703 eligible individuals under the A2 priority group have been vaccinated against COVID-19, as he led their vaccination program and the rollout of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine together with Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 deputy chief implementer Sec. Vince Dizon, and Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje.

The Pasig City mayor said authorities conducted a house-to-house vaccination information drive to encourage their constituents to get vaccinated against the virus.

“The most effective way to convince our senior citizens, and even the general population, is really through word of mouth,” Sotto said.

In relation to this, Cabotaje highlighted that clinical trials have proven that the single-dose Janssen vaccine can provide full protection against COVID-19.

– Report from Mela Lesmoras/PNA/NGS – jlo
