Passenger arrested in North Harbour for illegal possesion of suspected Marijuana

A lone passenger bound for Bacolod City was arrested by operatives of the Seaport Interdiction Unit (SIU) of PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region (NCR) for having illegal drugs in his possession. The arrest was made at Pier 4, North Harbour, Tondo, City of Manila on Friday morning (September 27, 2019).

Director Joel B Plaza, Regional Director of PDEA RO-NCR identified the arrested suspect as Jade Ferrer y Sioco, 22 years old, unemployed and a resident of Brgy. Cabahog, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Ferrer was initially apprehended by on-duty Security Guards at the Passenger Terminal Complex of North Port at around 1025H, after thorough inspection and frisking procedure conducted that yielded the presence of illegal drugs. The suspect was immediately turned-over to the PDEA RO-NCR SIU operatives for proper marking and inventory of the piece of evidence.

Recovered in his possession was one (1) piece of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing dried leaves suspected to be Marijuana, concealed in a black/gray baseball cap.

Criminal charge for violation of Section 11 (Illegal Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Article II of the Republic Act 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” will be filed against the suspect in court.
