PBA import McDaniels, Statham join Big 3 draft

Former PBA import KJ McDaniels and Filipino-American shooting guard Taylor Statham joined the 2022 Big 3 draft pool.

The 2022 Big 3 is one of the famous 3×3 leagues in the United States founded by hiphop artist Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz last 2017.

Along with the former PBA imports in the draft are former NBA players De Juan Blair and Damien Wilkins.

In 2019, McDaniels joined TNT Katropa and transferred to NLEX Road Warriors last year, but at the end of the elimination round of the 2022 PBA Governors’ Cup, the NBA player returned to the United States to be with his wife for the birth of their child.

There is no update yet on whether the 6-foot-6 forward will return to the team next PBA season while Statham is known to Filipino basketball fans as the NBA G League player who played in the PBA D-League and in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3.

The 5th season of Big 3 will have 16 teams in total. – Report from Sabel Reyes/ML-ag
