“Bagong Pilipino, tara, nood tayo!”

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged the public to support local television shows and films as well as practice responsible viewing in the launch of a new infomercial “Tara, Nood Tayo!” on Monday.

The campaign “Responsableng Panonood Tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas” (RP2BP) reaffirms the administration’s commitment to empowering the creative sector—including Filipino artists, producers, directors, cinema operators, and distributors—which the President described as a “vital driver” of cultural identity, economic growth, and national pride.

Marcos was joined by First Lady Liza Marcos—who is an active advocate of the arts and media—other members of the First Family, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto, local television and film executives, as well as Filipino stars in the nearly four-minute infomercial.

“Kasama ang pribadong sektor, kaisa ninyo ako, ang aking pamilya, at ang ating pamahalaan sa pagtangkilik sa pelikulang Pilipino at mga programang pangtelebisyon, dahil ang bagong Pilipino ay ipinagmamalaki ang kwentong Pilipino,” he said.

Sotto, meanwhile, underscored the MTRCB’s commitment to continue fostering a “Bagong Pilipinas” where Filipinos’ stories and experiences are told over small and big screens.

“Ang bagong Pilipino ay responsableng manonood kaya’t sisiguraduhin ng MTRCB na protektahan at pagyamanin ang ating unique Filipino viewing experience,” she said.

The campaign was made possible through the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the MTRCB, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) on Nov. 11, 2024.
