The Philippine government can expect enhanced collaboration with the government of Singapore as a fruit of the promising discussion between President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong over the weekend.
In his official social media accounts, President Marcos said he had a chance to discuss important matters at a dinner with Prime Minister Lee and Deputy Prime Minister Wong on Sunday.
“The discussions with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Deputy PM Lawrence Wong have been promising. Our countries can expect enhanced collaboration on multiple fronts to address common global challenges,” President Marcos said shortly after the dinner hosted by Prime Minister Lee.
“Later in the evening, we watched Ferrari clinch the podium at the F1 Grand Prix,” he added.
The attendance of President Marcos at the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore was upon the invite of Prime Minister Lee.
President Marcos was on an official visit to Singapore where he discussed priority policies and programs before economic managers and business leaders during the 10th Asian Conference dubbed as “A Conversation with the President of the Republic of the Philippines.”
The President highlighted in his 30-minute talk the Philippine government’s efforts to improve the lives of the Filipino people amid the challenges from significant global events, making him the first sitting President to address the Milken Institute’s Asia Summit.
In his fruitful official visit to Singapore, President Marcos received the confirmation for an PhP11-billion investment pledge from Singapore-based multinational technology company, Dyson that eyes to invest in the country by 2024.
Malaysian retail specialist Valiram Group is also looking at expanding its operations in the Philippines by developing airport outlets for duty-free retail tourism, according to the chief executive who met with the Valiram Group officials on Saturday.
President Marcos also visited overseas Filipino workers in Singapore. PND
