Agriculture and health serve among the top priorities of the Administration, as well as the backdrop of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s engagements in Isabela on Thursday.
In his visit to the Northern Luzon province, he had talks with local farmers in the municipality of Ramon, who were among the beneficiaries of the new Ambatali Warehouse with Multi-Purpose Drying Pavement and the Ramon Onion Cold Storage Facility in Barangay Ambatali.
Both facilities are expected to help reduce post-harvest losses, generate additional jobs, boost farmers’ incomes, and improve supply availability.
The onion cold storage facility features a complete electrical and water line, plastic crates and pallets, refrigeration units, compressors, electrical controls, and other implements to facilitate the handling and storage of red onions after harvest.
This facility also consists of cold storage and support/preparation rooms that can store up to 20,000 bags of onions, to maintain an optimal temperature and environment that ensures produce will not spoil in 1-2 months.
President Marcos Jr. also led the inauguration of the newly-constructed Super Health Center in Cabatuan town, established through the Department of Health’s (DOH) Health Facilities Enhancement Program.
This initiative by the health department complements the government’s efforts to bring healthcare services to rural communities and ensure better access to quality treatments and medicines.
Two ambulances were also donated by the government to constituents in Cabatuan, ensuring swift response to medical emergencies and improving the mobility of medical personnel who will operate the health facility.
