President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. wished his mother, Imelda Marcos, “continued [good] health, blessings, and joy” as she turns 93 on Saturday, July 2.

Marcos’ birthday message was posted on his official Facebook page.

“I join the country in greeting our mother the happiest of birthdays! We wish you continued [good] health, blessings, and joy,” President Marcos stated.

The celebration of Imelda’s 93rd birthday came two days after her son took oath as the country’s 17th President at the National Museum grounds in Manila.

She was seen enjoying the performance of world-renowned pianist Cecile Licad and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra in Malacañang at the inauguration reception on Thursday.

Marcos has no scheduled activities on Saturday, his office said.

Senator Imee Marcos, the eldest child, also greeted her mother in another Facebook post.

“Today marks the 93rd birthday of Former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos. Happy birthday, Madame!” the senator posted.

“Happy 93rd birthday to the one and only, Former First Lady, Mrs. Imelda Romualdez Marcos!” read the Facebook post of the senator’s son, Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc. – gb
