PCG recruits nearly 400 new members

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) announced on Saturday, July 1, that it added nearly 400 news members as of end-June.

A total of 394 trainees joined the graduation ceremony of Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Class Course 98-2022 which took place at the PCG Regional Training Center in Masbate.

The new members underwent six months worth of training on PCG’s traditions, mandates, and operations.

In the ceremony, PCG Commandant CG Artemio Abu stressed the importance of their sworn duty in contributing to the country’s development and the welfare of the public.

The new coast guards will be deployed to different units, districts, stations, and sub-stations of the PCG to help conduct operations related to maritime security, maritime safety, maritime law enforcement, maritime search and rescue, and marine environmental protection. – gb
