The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rescued four crew members of the half-submerged motor banca (MB) KIRAY that was hit by a dolphin in the waters of Palau Island in Sta. Ana, Cagayan on Monday, March 20.

The authorities reported that the motor banca was traveling to Babuyan Claro when its starboard bow was accidentally hit by a dolphin.

It added that the crew had thrown some cargoes to the water to prevent the motor banca from submerging further.

MB KIRAY’s captain declared it “abandoned” due to difficulties in towing the distressed motor banca to the shore.

Meanwhile, the PCG said all four crew members were in good physical condition. – cf
