PCOO Secretary on the 53rd Founding Anniversary of ASEAN

We are one with the whole Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in our commemoration of our 53rd Founding Anniversary.

ASEAN was built on our forefathers’ collective vision of shared socio-economic development, mutual assistance, and regional peace and stability.

At present, ASEAN has become the fifth largest economy in the world, and as we continue to achieve milestones and successes, both regional and global, we are moving closer to our vision of a politically-, economically-, and socially-united community.

Even with the present threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, ASEAN has never wavered in its determination and commitment of community-building for every ASEAN citizen. Now more than ever, being united as an intergovernmental organization, has never been more important.

Through ASEAN’s continued achievements as an effective mechanism
and institution, we are confident that we will all overcome all difficulties that come our way, especially the threat of COVID-19, as we embrace mutual assistance and regional collective partnership.

Mabuhay ang ASEAN!
