PDEA nabs trader, seizes drugs, guns in Cotabato

COTABATO CITY–Anti-narcotics agents arrested Thursday night a businessman here for drug peddling, authorities said Friday.

Director Juvenal Azurin of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) identified the suspect as Iskhak Omar, a resident of Kimpo Subdivision, Cotabato City.

Armed with search warrants, the anti-drug agents arrested Omar in his home and seized from him 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of PHP136,000.

Also seized from Omar were a .38-caliber revolver, a .45-caliber pistol, ammunition, mobile phones, bank documents and cash.

Azurin said Omar was in the PDEA-ARMM watch list. He is now detained at the PDEA-ARMM lockup in this city. (Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
