Perlas Pilipinas shreds Myanmar in lopsided 90-point win

Perlas Pilipinas bounced back from a disappointing loss to Indonesia as they gave Myanmar a hard-beating, 133-43, on Tuesday afternoon at the 29th Southeast Asian Games’ women basketball tournament in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Perlas squad leaned on to a huge first quarter storm, 33-8, and it was all them since then as the Myanmar team didn’t even showcased little resistance.

The lopsided game flawlessly continued for the Perlas as they just gave the Myanmar a poor 14-point first half — with only 6 points added in the second quarter, 64-14.

Relentless Perlas Pilipinas never showed any mercy acts as they consistently never allowed the Myanmar to break a 10-point addition to their scoreboard in any quarter – giving only another five points at the end of the third quarter, 86-19.

The mighty Filipinas completely trounced the Myanmar with a 90-point deficit at the end of the game.

With their whole game choking defensive efforts, Perlas Pilipinas only allowed their counterparts with just 14 successful shot attempts compared to their 47 shots.

They also dominated the rebounding department, exposing mastery as they doubled the 32 boards of Myanmar with their 65 rebounding output.

Points in the paint were also one of the keys for Perlas staggering victory as they outplayed the Myanmar in the shaded area with their 74 points, compared to 16 markers of the losing side. | Tretch Melarpes – PTV
