The Philippine General Hospital (PGH), for the meantime, will not be accepting patients with non-COVID-19 illnesses.
In a statement on Saturday (Aug. 14), PGH said the refusal of non-COVID-19 patients is to enable the hospital to receive more COVID-19 patients, especially with the recent rise of utilization rates of hospitals in the National Capital Region.
The PGH said that it will immediately release an advisory for when it will start accepting non-COVID-19 patients once again.
Meanwhile, the PGH outpatient department (OPD) will remain closed from Aug. 16 until the next advisory due to the enhanced community quarantine and to help reduce the number of COVID-19 cases.
However, the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and the Cancer Institute will remain open. -PTV News/PG – jlo
