PH administers almost 40-M COVID-19 vaccine doses

The Philippines has administered a total of almost 40 million COVID-19 vaccines as of Sep. 15.

In the Philippine vaccine tracker presented by National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 Chief Implementer and vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. aired on Thursday (Sep. 16), he said the country has given a total of 39,531,073 COVID-19 vaccine doses, with 22,182,402 as the first dose and 17,348,671 as the second dose.

“Kung titingnan po natin ito po ay nagre-represent ng 22.5% ng 70% ng total eligible populations or 15.7% ng total population po natin,” he said.

Galvez reported that the country has received a total of 57,547,610 COVID-19 vaccines, 36,303,880 of which are procured by the national government, 4,119,100 procured by the private sector and the local government units (LGUs), 13,485,490 were donated by the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVAX Facility, and 3,639,140 were donated by other countries.

He said a total of 49,922,450 vaccines were already deployed to various areas in the country, while 18,016,537 doses are yet to be administered.

Moreover, the total number of COVID-19 vaccines secured by the Philippines is 187.6 million.

“So mayroon pa po tayong hinihintay na kabuuan na more or less, 130.6 million na vaccines na darating pa po ngayong taon,” Galvez said. -rir
