PH bans flights from UK

President Rodrigo R. Duterte approved on Tuesday the suspension of all flights from the United Kingdom (UK) to the Philippines starting December 24, 12:01 AM until December 31, 2020.

This was confirmed by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque following the discovery of a new Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) strain in the said country.

Sec. Roque pointed out that the order includes all travelers including transit passengers and individuals with a travel history in UK within the past 14 days. However, if travelers were to arrive before 12:01 AM of December 24, they will not be subjected to entry restriction, but will undergo stricter quarantine and testing protocols.

Individuals bound for UK from the Philippines will undergo existing exit protocols of the Philippines and UK. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
