PH COVID-19 vaccination program may start on Feb. 15

The Philippine government may begin the vaccination against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Feb. 15.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, around 117,000 doses of vaccine are expected to arrive in the country next week. The vaccines will come from Pfizer-BioNTech under the COVAX facility.

Malacañang then confirmed that the names of the frontliners to be inoculated are already completed. Medical workers of Covid-19 hospitals including the Philippine General Hospital, Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, and East Avenue Medical Center are part of the first batch.

Moreover, the government aims to vaccinate over 1 million individuals within a month. – PTV News
