PH extends travel ban on 7 countries until June 30

The Philippines extended on Monday (June 14) the travel ban on travelers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, and Oman.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the extension of the travel restriction until June 30.

The extension was set to end on June 15.

The government has initially barred the travelers from the said countries to prevent the entry of the B.1.617 COVID-19 variant that was first discovered in India.
