PH logs over 20-K COVID-19 cases for 3 straight days

The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday (Sept. 5) confirmed 20,019 new COVID-19 cases, which brings the country’s total cases to 2,080,984.

Of this, 7.6% or 157,438 are active COVID-19 cases – 92% are mild, 3.4% are asymptomatic, 2.51% are moderate, 1.4% are severe, while  0.7% are critical cases.

The DOH also reported 20,089 new recoveries and 173 fatalities on Sunday, 20,741 new cases on Saturday, and 20,310 new cases on Friday.

The utilization rate of intensive care unit beds nationwide and in the National Capital Region (NCR) stands at 75%, while the isolation bed occupancy rates are at 66% and 64%, respectively. – CF – jlo
