PH Navy also securing ‘Traslacion’

MANILA — The Philippine Navy (PN) has deployed personnel and assets to help secure this year’s “Traslacion” of the Black Nazarene, its spokesperson said Wednesday.

“Affirmative. Aside from floating riverine assets, the PN also (deployed) air, special operations and marines to augment the Joint Task Force of the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) in support of the PNP (Philippine National Police),” Commander Jonathan Zata said in a message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) when asked if the Navy is aiding the security efforts for the procession.

Earlier, AFP public affairs office chief Col. Noel Detoyato said the military’s Joint Task Force-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR) would augment PNP efforts to secure the “Traslacion”.

Detoyato, however, declined to give specific figures but said the JTF-NCR will commit enough forces to support the PNP.
