The Philippine peso on Monday, Oct. 3, extended its record-setting slump against the United States (US) dollar.

The local unit slid to new all-time low against the greenback after it closed at P57.

It eclipsed its lowest recorded value on Sept. 23, at P58.99.

This also is the 10th record-high closing rate for the US dollar/PH peso exchange rate since the start of this year.
