PH raises Alert Level 3 in Israel, Iran

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday raised Alert Level 3 in both Israel and Iran effective immediately, enjoining all overseas Filipinos (OFs) in the two warring countries to return to the Philippines.

“Travel by Filipinos to both these countries is highly discouraged, due to the ongoing crisis and the actual closure of their air space and seaports,” the DFA said in a statement.

“Should Overseas Filipinos (OFs) in these countries wish to be voluntarily repatriated through the aid of the Philippine Government, they are advised to coordinate with their respective Philippine Embassies,” it added.

The raising of alert level comes as conflict between Israel and Iran enters its seventh day since Tel Aviv’s military action was met with deadly Iranian retaliatory strikes.

The DFA said the alert levels are subject to periodic review, taking into consideration the situation on the ground.

“The Department hopes that parties will cease hostilities soon,” it said.
