The Philippines is the 76th happiest country in the world, according to the World Happiness Report 2023.

The report was based on average life assessments from 2020 to 2022.

Finland still continues to occupy the top spot among 137 countries in terms of happiness, followed by Denmark at the second place and Iceland at third.

Israel was ranked fourth, the Netherlands fifth, Sweden sixth, Norway seventh, Switzerland eighth, Luxembourg ninth, and New Zealand tenth.

“Among the rest of the countries in the top twenty, the confidence regions for their ranks cover five to ten countries,” the World Happiness Report stated.

Afghanistan is at the bottom of this year’s report.

“The range estimates show that Afghanistan in the last position, and Lebanon second last have ranks significantly different from each other, and from all higher countries,” it added.

“Despite the general consistency among the top country scores, there have been many significant changes among the rest of the countries,” it continued.

The Philippines was the second-happiest country in Southeast Asia and 60th out of 146 in 2022. -ag
