PH, Russia to forge labor agreement

President Rodrigo Duterte and Pres. Vladimir Putin agreed in their bilateral meeting in Russia that there is a need to forge a labor agreement between their countries. The Filipino leader said that while the Russian government is open to accepting Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), he reminded that the latter should be mindful of the laws of the foreign land especially on matters of overstaying, undocumented and malemployed workers or employees who land in jobs that do not match their skills. Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III is now drafting the PH-Russia labor agreement tackling said issues.
